With close to 25 years of experience in journalism, Palki Sharma has departed from Firstpost, where she was responsible for shaping the platform’s editorial vision.
She stepped down from her role as Managing Editor at Firstpost, where she handled editorial planning, news strategy, and overall content leadership.
According to sources cited by Marketing Mind, her exit has been internally confirmed. It is also understood that she is planning to launch an independent venture, although specific details regarding the project and its timeline are yet to be revealed.
Sharma has been serving as Managing Editor at Network18 Media and Investments since September 2022, playing a key role in editorial decision-making and newsroom operations. At the same time, she has been associated with iTV Network as an Anchor and Senior Editor since January 2023.
Previously, she worked as Managing Editor at WION (World Is One News) from March 2017 to January 2023 in Noida, where she managed global news coverage and international editorial strategy.
Before WION, she spent almost 11 years at CNN-IBN (now CNN-News18) from May 2005 to March 2016 as an Anchor and Senior Editor. During this period, she hosted major news programs, interviewed well-known political and cultural personalities, handled breaking news coverage, edited international news reports, and contributed to digital and social media audience engagement strategies.
Earlier in her career, she worked as a Staff Writer at Hindustan Times from 2004 to 2005, reporting on social issues, civic matters, and entertainment stories. She started her journalism journey as a News Anchor at Doordarshan News between 2002 and 2005, where she presented national and regional news broadcasts and created current affairs content.
